hotels with baby

Anyone have a suggestion for a nice place to stay (inn or B&B) that allows kids? We're going to Charlotte for the weekend and want a quaint experience but know that many b&bs don't take kids.
Thanks!

i saw your post and had to reply even though we don't have any b&b info for you for Charlotte, we stayed twice at b&b's with our infant and then toddler and i have to say that, all things considered, they were not pleasant experiences. we much prefer a suite type hotel like hampden inn or springhill. yes, it's a cookie cutter, but you know what, we weren't worried about him making noise, at the b&b's we've stayed at, we've walked on egg shells. At the chain hotels there were so many other kids that we were at ease. we save the b&b's for when the inlaws visit! on our last (and final) b & b visit to a place in Grand Junction called Los Altos, the owner was mowing the grass when we arrived. my son ran on a newly-seeded part of the lawn (not roped off) and was admonished sternly by the owner. that was our greeting!

Interesting comment about your experience, flop. I think people need to recognize that in a small space like a B&B or Inn, you have to be aware of other people's comfort as well as your own. Someone who goes to a B&B is going to GET AWAY from crying children and the accompanying mayhem, not to be subjected to it.

Quaint and Charlotte?!?

Charlotte is suburban sprawl and gridlocked traffic. Try to stay as close to where you need to be to avoid the bad traffic.

Mike T, totally in agreement with your sentiments. B&B's should be used to get way away from that stuff, which is really what i was trying to say. it doesnt do anyone any good to bring a kid to a quiet retreat. we learned that the hard way.

Agree with others on the B&B with a baby.

A wonderful quaint hotel in Charlotte in a fantastic location is The Park Hotel.

One time I stayed there on the club floor, the Chicago Bulls were also staying there.

Two different times I was there on the club floor, Jimmy Buffett was also down the hall from me.

Thanks for the candor to all! I see both sides to the B&B issue and you are right, it's not the right place for a baby. I was hoping more of an "inn" with the size of a hotel but the charm of a B&B. Will check out the Park hotel.
