Hotels to stay in Portland, Oregon

Hello Everyone,
In a day or two, I will be driving from Bend, Oregon to Marysville, WA. I will stay a night in Portland, than continue my drive to Marysville, WA.
Does anyone know of any hotels in Portland that will be easy to get onto the freeway from the Hotel?

Any help and suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Do you want to stay IN Portland? If not, consider Comfort Inn Vancouver which will put you north of Portland and out of Portland traffic in the morning. The Comfort Inn is well-reviewed and moderately priced, includes light breakfast in the morning and is just off the freeway, with a steakhouse (Black Angus/ chain) on the premises if you want an easy dinner.

I don't think we'll want to stay IN Portland. Would these be easy to find driving from Bend?

Thank you

Are you just looking to stop and sleep or experience a night out in Portland? If you come up I-5, I would just stay in the Central Portland, have a nice meal, walk around, enjoy.

Driving up I-5 go through Portland, past the airport exits, and then you'll come to the Vancouver exits, take the City Center Exit. Stay in the right lane and you'll turn right onto 13th Street. Then, proceed one block and the hotel is on the right. Couldn't be any easier.
They offer AAA discount and senior discount.

Personally, I'd head north on US 97 all the way to Yakima, then I-82/I-90/I-405/I-5 and skip Portland altogether. With traffic, it's probably quicker, far more scenic and interesting, and most likely better weather. Overnight somewhere around The Dalles or Yakima.

If you do decide to go via Portland, I'd look for someplace near the airport; easy access off I-84 and/or I-205.

I agree with Gardyloo for the most part. We have made this drive many times between Bend and a town adjacent to Marysville. The one thing I would not do is stay overnight in Yakima. Stop around The Dalles or even Goldendale. We always just made the drive in one day though, so I can't comment on the hotels other than what Google has to offer.

Piling on. Going to Portland makes no sense. Bend is right on 97, so keep going north and follow gardyloo's advice.
