Hi John;

Don't know what your idea of a "reasonably priced" hotel might be, but after alot of research I've just booked this hotel for our trip in May. Good reviews on Tripadvisor and the location seems ideal.

Hotel Boheme - 444 Columbus Ave. $174.00 per night. It is a small boutique hotel.

Hope this helps.

But don't tell anyone. Prices have gone up 50% since fodorites started loving this place.

We recently stayed at the Hyatt Embarcadero for $75/night through a Priceline bid. The location is great, and the hotel stay was fine. The staff we interacted with were professional and friendly, the room was clean, and the bed was very comfortable.

Don't know what is "reasonable" to you, but my favorite hotel (almost anywhere) is the Hotel Monaco in SF.

The Argonaut near Ghiradelli Square and Fisherman's Wharf is nice.

Also Rennaisance Stanford Court is very comfortable. It is on top of Nob Hill about 2 blks from Union Square, nice city or bay views, easy walking distance to everywhere, and very quiet at night despite being on 2 cable car lines.

Just stayed at the Radisson Fisherman's Wharf. Got it on Priceline for $53 a night.

HOtel Donatello very often has specials that include free parking for your car if you have one. We have paid $169.00 several times. It is a lovely hotel around the corner from the Theatre district and Union Square where you can catch a cable car for the wharf, chinatown.

We stayed at Hotel del Sol in the Marina District, after reading good reviews on Tripadvisor. We were very pleased..it was just like everyone said. The price was reasonable ($135) for San Fran, and the location excellent. It is located in a great in-town neighborhood with lots of quaint shops, restaurants, etc. We used the public transportation (bus)to get around..very easy and safe.
