What is your budget? when? what sort of room?
Is there a reason you want/need to stay near City Hall? I personally wouldn't even if I had an event there -- I'd stay elsewhere and take a bus or taxi to City Hall. The UN Plaza / Civic Center area is an 'authorized' homeless encampment and the BART station is not that safe. |
I agree with Janis. Stay elsewhere in the City.

The Courtyard Marriott van ness is a 10 min walk, or a quick muni bus ride, straight shot.

Yes -- the Courtyard is the closest decent/chain hotel but that's not a 10 minute walk I'd be happy doing these days.
