Hotels near Nationals Park

My wife & I are planning to attend a Washington Nationals game on a Saturday in August. Can anyone recommend a hotel for no more than $100/night either within walking distance to the stadium or one located near a Metro station which we can use to take to the stadium? Thanks.

L'Enfant Plaza hotel is a good bet for what you want.

It is 2 short stops on Metro's Green Line from the hotel (L'Enfant Plaza station) to the Stadium stop (Navy Yard station).

Plan on eating near the stadium (or metro to the Gallery Place station - also on the Green Line) - there are not many restaurants or cafes near the the L'Enfant Plaza hotel.

$100 a night is going to be VERY difficult

$100 should be easy to find if it is in mid-late August. That's a very slow time of year for DC hotels--scant convention business and families are in back-to-school mode.

I didn't see August. You are right, it should be better.

Be VERY caeful about an hotel which says it is close to the stadium. Some are good; some not so good and please don't forget, August is prime TOURIST time here so don't necessarily expect a whole bunch of rate deals.

If yo find places that seem good, come back and ask about them. You can stay a LONG way from the stadium and still be right next to a Metro stop, both within and outside of the District.

Good advice, Dukey. I was fearing OP might have looked at Capitol Slyline! Bleah!

I disagree. Along with what others said, Congress is in recess in August. Weekend rates should be pretty good but, even so, $100 a night isn't much for the DC area.

I do agree that staying near the stadium isn't a great idea.

Away from the immediate ballpark area, look along the Green line, Mt. Vernon Square and Gallery Place especially. Consider Priceline, once you have studied up on it of course, and you could come in at $100 including tax and fees.

Or Crystal City in Va, which would involve a change of trains at L'Enfant.
