hotels in Venice

Myself and 2 friends (all mid-60's) are planning a trip to Paris/Venice/Rome in August of this year. Our Paris accommodations and our Rome accommodations are all set but we have not yet decided on a hotel in Venice. We would like a nice, quaint hotel with clean rooms, a good breakfast and a good location (preferably convenient to the train station). While I know that nothing is cheap in Venice, I would like to find a place that fits our needs without breaking the bank. Does anyone have any suggestions?

You should go to the Europe forum and look around there. Post and tag with Italy? What compelled you to tag in the US forum with these four states. Do you live in them?

ps. Nobody knows what your "bank" consists of. Use real amounts and dates will be helpful. www.venere.com is a good website.

Is this a thread for Venice, California? It's one of the tags!

Pensione La Calcina (don't limit yourself to "near the train station" because that's not convenient to the rest of what you likely will be wanting to see0.

First, post in the eueope board.

Second, please provide a specific amount in $ or euros - and tell us what kind of room you are looking for. Three to share? Do you need 3 beds (will be twins not double at best? Ot can you use a double and one twin?

Since this is my first time using Fodor's forum, I guess I didn't understand the basics. I thought that by using the U.S. tags, it would get me responses from people in those states who have traveled to Italy. My bad. Thanks for all the tips and information for using this forum. I'll try again using the Europe forum.

It's OK. Everyone's new here once :-)

People from all over read the Europe forum. You put posts in the place your going, not where you're from or where other readers are from.

Welcome!!
