Hotels in Santa Barbara/Simi Valley
Driving down from SFO in February to visit the Reagan Library and looking for nice hotel for a few nights to explore Santa Barbara and the wine area as well. Is there any such lodging?
Much obliged. Peter2 |
There are plenty of nice hotels in Santa Barbara if you can afford them.
My wife and I stayed at the Sandyland in Carpenteria Which is OK if you need a quiet place to sleep that is affordable. http://sandyland.com/ It's only 10 minutes from SB and much cheaper. |
I posted this after last Easter:
"I made a last-minute trip to Santa Barbara for Easter weekend. Found this jewel of an inn, just 1/2 block from the waterfront: http://www.sbcastilloinn.com/ The rooms are newly renovated, so have granite countertops, new furniture, etc. I booked Easter Sunday for just $119/night plus tax, for a king bed suite (with extra space and pullout sofa) including a continental breakfast, free wi-fi, and free parking. It really is the cutest little place. Set up like a motel, where you drive right up to your room." |
My wife recently stayed at the Canary Hotel, which is downtown and walking distance from a plethora of restaurants.
She loved the place, wanted to take home some of the fixtures there. http://www.canarysantabarbara.com/hotel/index.html Check out the photos of the Hotel. |
The Reagan Library is in Simi Valley, the wine country is the Santa Ynez Valley. I'm not clear from you're post if you're looking for a night in Simi as well? Simi is a little less than 90 mins drive to Santa Barbara.
