Hotels in Santa Barbara
 

My husband and I will be in Santa Barbara next week for one night, and are looking for a reasonable, but nice, place to stay. Can anyone tell me about the Colonial Beach Inn or the Inn by the Harbor? Or offer any other suggestions?

I have not stayed at either of those places, but you could check out Cabrillo Inn which is right on the beach (on Cabrillo Blvd south from Stearns Warf), BUT the prices are reasonable. Great location and you may get lucky during the week (week-ends are out at this point in the summer). I think that their number is: 805-966-1641

Have stayed at the Colonial and it is not on the beach but is clean and nice. Tropicana Inn is also decent.

I have not stayed at either of these places, but I would recommend the Hotel Santa Barbara. It's right on State Street, in the middle of SB. It's very comfortable & nice. Depending on when you'll be there, their rates can be pretty affordable.

We stayed at the inn by the harbor last month for a wedding. It's kind of funky, but clean and the people are really nice.

The comp. breakfast buffet is the nicest I've ever had at this kind of hotel.
