Hotels in Oshkosh/Fon du Lac area
 

Does anyone know of a really nice hotel, motel, or resort with a lake view in Oskosh, or Fond du Lac or between the two.

There used to be a Pioneer Resort on the Lake in Oshkosh, but I don't know if its still there. The Park Plaza is on the Fox River, downtown.

The above poster is correct. The Pioneer Inn is on the lake. I believe it was recently remodeled (at least that's what their billboards say). The Park Plaza is a "downtown" hotel and is on the river.
There are no Fond du Lac hotels on the lakeshore.
Hope you're not planning on swimming!
Is there something "special" which brings you to this part of the state? I'm sure you'll enjoy your stay.

The Pioneer Resort is actually closed until the summer of 2006. I think it is being turned into condos.

No, I was not planning to swim! I just like looking at the water and was looking for someplace nice to stay.

If you don't need to be in either Oshkosh or Fond du Lac there are a couple of options which aren't a long drive. The Heidel House on Green Lake and on Elkhart Lake is the Osthoff Resort. Both Green Lake and Elkhart lake have other hotels/resorts options.

Unfortunately, we do need to be close to those two towns.
I checked the Park Plaza and it got such bad reports on trip advisor, I made a reservation at the Hilton Inn out of desperation.
