Hotels in or near Hyde Park in Chicago
My sister lives at 57th and Blackstone in Hyde Park and I'd live to visit her soon. I am looking for a hotel in the immediate area so that I don't have to impose on her in her small apartment. I'll be taking a cab between the hotel and her place as I'm mobility challenged and public transportation is not in the cards for me. Also, the parking situation in her area is awful so a rental car is out as well.
Thanks,

Are you surprising her? If not, i would just ask her.
If you are afraid she will insist you stay with her, lie. Tell her your doctor said you need to stay in a hotel because of (pick one) allergies, joint pain, digestive issues, snoring.
Sorry I can't help with a hotel. Our son went to business school at h University of Chicago, but her lived in the Loop and we stayed there.

No, it's no surprise. She is acutely ill and her children will be taking up available space in her co-op apartment. Her kids have been very helpful in offering suggestions but we have all struck out in finding anything close. It looks like my best bet is to rely on shuttles and taxis from MDW which is the airport I will likely use and where I would find a hotel.
Thanks

Don't stay at Midway. It's further than downtown. You can stay near McCormick Place which is between Hyde Park and the Loop. Note that this is good only if you don't care about being in the Loop. Look at the Hyatt:

The Ramada Inn in Hyde Park is closer.
