What are the best beaches to got to in La Jolla

I like La Jolla Cove, La Jolla Shores, WindanSea, and the Children's Pool.

Torrey Pines Beach (formerly Black's) is lovely and wide.

Be aware that Black's Beach is "clothing optional". (This doesn't apply to the whole stretch of Torrey Pines, though.)

We drove 15 minutes up the coast (either 101 or I-5) to LaCosta Avenue and west to South Carlsbad State Beach. Very quiet beach, nice sand, lifeguards, restrooms, etc. Our kids loved the boogie boarding. LaJolla Shores was hard to find, in our opinion, down through homes and traffic. Have fun.
