Hotels in Mid Town Manhattan

My husband and I will be spending a few days in New York City in July. We are looking for a nice hotel in Mid Town Manhattan for no more than about $300 a night. Any suggestions?

I just booked the affina 50 on 3rd and 52nd or 50th anyways, for 300 a night it has a microwave and fridge 2 queen beds and the rooms are bigger. It is a suite hotel. So maybe a smaller room would be less$$$ Have stayed at the Hiton towers before great hotel but prices are over 350! Try looking at trip advisor the reviews are usually pretty reliable or look at old posts here or the Fodors hotels the reviews are good here also. good luck

HI-- We were in NYC 2 yrs ago in July and a lot of NY hotels are less expensive during the summer months. Your $300 may get you more than you think. Try exploring some that you may have thought were above your price level; you may be pleasantly surprised.

There are hundreds of hotels. You haven't given us a clue as to what you plan to do while in NYC or what your taste is in hotels (big/small, modern/traditional,)or how many in your party. I agree in July $300 can go pretty far. Have you ever been to NY before? Do you know whether you want east or west side?

I agree the Affinia 50 is a nice choice with large apt size "rooms" with kitchens. It's near Bloomingdales and a cross town bus and has been recently renovated. But you could also stay someplace with a pool (Millenium UN or Le Parker Meridien) within your budget. You could also stay in the ever popular theater district within your budget. (Michelangelo has been showing up on quikbook at $195 for certain dates).
