Hotels in Maui using Priceline
What has been Fodorites success booking hotels in Maui using Priceline? How close to the date would you suggest trying?

I would use Expedia for Hawaii..not to say Priceline isn't good but I want to know where I am staying and have a bed selection..
Hawaii is busy over the summer and holidays.. Some great deals with Hawaii right now with vacation packages, hotels but flights are still pricey.. |
Did you check out BetterBidding.com and BiddingForTravel.com to see what recent hotel wins in Maui have been like? I considered going to Maui last year and looked into using Priceline for Maui - and it seemed unlikely I'd be able to get a decent hotel for much less than $100/night, even with Priceline, based on those two websites.
I'd personally plug my dates into Hotwire.com to see what comes up on it - and use that as a comparison basis to Priceline. If Hotwire has some decent deals for your dates, chances are Priceline has even better deals. |
ksucat, when I checked last fall (after the economic scares) I still saw no great hotel deals for Maui when I checked. (Airfare from Portland wasn't too bad though.) That's one of the reasons I didn't go. Maybe there are finally more deals?

Would you consider 100 dollars a night For Wailea Marriott Resort in 2nd week of June? If so, I got it using priceline. And as someone mentioned www.biddingfortravel.com is an excellent start point for your potential bids on priceline.
