Hotels in Disney World with a Toddler

I will be six month pregnant and going to Disney World for 3 night stay in June with my 2 1/2 year old and my husband. We're thinking staying on the Monorail line is best for quick access to our room. Which deluxe Disney hotel is best for a Toddler and a pregnant woman? I can basically get the Contemporary, Beach or Yacht club all for the same price or the Grand Floridian and Polynesian for $75 a night more than the Contemporary, Beach or Yacht club.
Is Grand Floridian really the best with toddlers?

I would go with Polynesian or the Grand Floridian for proximity to Magic Kingdom and on the Monorail. Y&B Club isnt on the Monorail.

Polynesian rooms are spacious by Disney standards, and we thought it was great for young families. We stayed there two years ago and were very happy.

Being 6 mos pregnant, you may want to think about whether it's a priority to minimize walking. Polynesian is fairly spread out. Contemporary is probably the easiest on the feet, being that it's a pretty standard "vertical" hotel.

You should stay at one of the resorts on the monorail. The Yacht and Beach club is not on the monorail. From the Contemporary, you can actually walk 10 minutes or so to the Magic Kingdom. The difference between the hotels is really just one of theming. Polynesian has the newest pool.

We stayed at the contemporary last summer and it was convenient for the monorail and busses to other parks. The rooms were very impressive and large. Ask fora patio rooom on the first floor as you can go out the sliding doors to a grassy area. Just a word of warning...June and July are horribly humid and we were there with my grandchildren in July last year and it was pretty miserable at the parks. Even being out by the pool was pretty humid. Contemporary pool is nothing special. Perhaps animal kingdom would be fun for your little one as the animals are easily seen from some of the rooms.

I agree with padams that you should stay at a Monorail hotel. Regarding pools, the Polynesian has two pools -- the "volcano" pool is very good (with graduated entry at one end that is great for toddlers), and a more standard pool.

We've stayed at the Contemporary, Animal Kingdom Lodge and Wilderness Lodge. Each member of my family, especially the kids, loved Wilderness THE best.

But if I could afford it, I would like to try the Grand Floridian.
