Hotels in Beverly Hills
Some friends and I are going to LA for the first time in September and want to stay in Beverly Hills. We want a good location. Any suggestions?

I've stayed at the Holiday Inn Select, Beverly Hills. It's a 10 minute walk to Rodeo Drive, and the hotel has a free shuttle service to Century City (am) and the Beverly Centre (pm). I had no complaints. <BR>Anne in Perth, Australia where the sun is shining and we're one week from winter

No hesitation - The Renaissance Beverly Hills. It used to be The Beverly Prescott hotel when I first stayed there, but has been purchased by Renaissance hotels. It is located on Beverwil Drive just at the top of Pico Blvd. - an easy walk to all the shops and dining of Rodeo Drive. It is a small boutique hotel with huge rooms that are beautifully maintained and decorated. Ask for one with a view of the Hollywood Hills. All rooms have balconies with a nice sized table and two chairs and a well equipped bath with seperate dressing area. There is an excellent restaurant, nice little pool, there's even a Starbucks, a great bagel shop, and a Ralph's grocery/wine & deli across the street for light snacks or forgotten items. We've booked them at good rates ($165 in April 2000)from the Renaissance Hotel web site (which I think has pictures) and also through QuikBook. Our friends (who live in and know LA) where very impressed with the quality of the hotel and the price.

Visited Beverly Hills last year and stayed in two hotels. The Regent Beverly Wilshire, which although has an excellent location on Rodeo Drive and is a 5 star luxury hotel,is rather stuffy in character and lacks a good atmosphere. The hotel is very lacking in terms of grounds and the pool area is nothing to write home about. The second hotel was superb - The Beverly Hills Hotel. The hotel has a relaxed atmosphere and is luxuriously decorated. The pool area is first class and the gardens which surround the bungalows and the hotel are lovely. We stayed in both bungalow and main hotel and found both to be fantastic. As you can tell, I cannot find a fault! I can't wait to return - so instead of the Beverly Hilton, opt for the Beverly Hills Hotel! It's in a different league and you certainly won't be disappointed!
