Hotel with character

Looking for b&b/small hotel in French Quarter, Memorial weekend, for 2 adults. Something with local color, charm and character - but clean - for around $100-150/night.

A street-side balcony would be great, as would a mini-fridge.

Any suggestions?

Currently considering Hotel St. Pierre or Andrew Jackson Hotel - how are these?

Will Budman or Kal be in New Orleans that week...If you stay at their hotel, you'll have the character.

Lafitte Guest House. 1003 Bourbon St. Beautiful rooms; amazing balconies and views.

Check tripadvisor.com for the best reviews on hotels. You'll find the St Pierre and A. Jackson don't get very good reviews. B&Bs seem to do better in the New Orleans reviews on tripadvisor, in fact, so check those out too.
