do you leave a tip for the maid every day for cleaning your hotel/motel room? or do you wait till the end of your stay and leave a larger amount then?

we have usually waited till the end, but since possibly different people are cleaning your room each day ...............

also how much do you leave?

This has been discussed before and the consensus was pretty much to leave a little every day because of that very reason. That's what I do. By the time I leave there is a different person cleaning my room. I leave $3 or so each day, depending on what I have in the wallet.

I usually leave a couple of dollars each day so each person gets some. Make sure it's obvious it's for the cleaner.

Right - I leave a note the first time "FOR HOUSEKEEPING" and then leave it in the same place each time - on the counter in the bathroom, near the phone, etc.

Each day of my stay. And usually $5, unless there has been exceptional or less than satisfactory service.

Hello Joanel, I always leave a tip daily. I put the daily tip in an envelope (either one of the hotel's envelopes or use the small ones I have tucked in my luggage) and leave it on one of the bed pillow is full view with "For Housekeeping" written on the face of the envelope. $3.00 to $5.00 daily..usually $3.00.

I used to wait until the end of our stay and tip all at once, but have been educated on this forum that it's better to tip daily.

On arrival, you can tell much about whether housekeeping is meticulous by the condition of the room, so rather than wait to see, I go ahead and leave a tip each morning.

As for the amount, it depends on the property - $2, $4, $5 per day...A bit more generous with a request such as LOTS of coffee, please.
