I live in Denver and have never heard of the Timbers Hotel. Where is it and what have you found out about it?

How long would you be staying at the Timbers? It might be fine for an overnight, but it's not really close to anything special in Denver. Would you rather stay near the sights?

Melnq8 and MaureenB we thank you very much for your posts.
It will be our first visit to Colorado and Utah where we are going to stay roughly 3 weeks in total.
As far as Denver is concerned, we shall arrive at 6.20pm from Nice via London and do really dont know how to proceed as we wish not to stay in Denver but rather to drive west and visit Denver when we return.
So our dilemn is : do we sleep in the airport area and rent the car the following morning (early because of jet lag) or rent the car at the arrival and drive west but not far away.
It is the reason why i explore many hotels but dont feel quite secured when looking at various posts.
I have found this hotel that looks rather recent and at a manageable distance from airport.
Your recommendations are welcome.
Some forumers already mentioned a few hotels that would be interesting when not renting the car at the airport (doubletree quebec street for instance)
Merci beaucoup

Eze, I think I posted a response on your other thread, too.

By the way, my daughter and I visited Nice last May and loved our visit in your part of the world! I hope your visit to Colorado and Utah will be a good one, too. We've lived here since the early 70s, so please ask any questions you have. It's beautiful here and you will love it.

I think you're smart to give yourself a rest before heading off by car. I am thinking the hotels on Quebec, or those close to the airport, might be more interesting than staying at 44th and Peoria. If you stay on Quebec, around 29th street, you can walk to the Stapleton restaurants easily for a dinner or to stretch your legs.

Our Denver airport is in the middle of nowhere, so you will think you've landed on the moon! Don't despair, though, it's a short drive to civilization.

If I were you, I'd check out which hotels will offer a free shuttle from the airport, and which have good rental car deals close by. That could include even hotels downtown, because the major car rental agencies have offices on Broadway downtown. You mention the Doubletree on Quebec, which would probably serve you well. There's also a Renaissance hotel and a Radisson on Quebec, in that same general vicinity.

Bon voyage!

This hotel is incredible! The rooms are bigger than my apartment and really nice. Apparently they bought their furniture via a high end store in Cherry Creek. They have a full restaurant, ballroom, etc...
