hotel suggestion for downtown san diego
 

we are planning a long weekend in san diego in mid august. i have checked all the usual hotel sites and am having trouble finding a hotel in the downtown area for under $150 @ night. does anyone have any recommendations or suggestions?

sorry, don't have any suggestions. $150 during august is pretty tough to find in downtown. you might want to consider some other areas.

Try priceline. Downtown San Diego hotels routinely go for $50-$65 for a 4 star. Look at biddingfortravel.com first.

Carol,<BR>I stayed at the Embassy Suites in Downtown San Diego. Beautiful Hotel, can't say enough about it. If you go to their website, embassysuites.com, they are posting a rate for AAA members, might as well join it, for 161.00 per night, or non-AAA 179.00 per night, this is pretty good for a great hotel in a great location. You might have to just spend a little above 150.00 to get the area/quality you're looking for.<BR><BR>Jen
