Heading to New City for the first time in April have reservations at the Milford Plaza.<BR>Location of hotel and any info on it would be great.<BR><BR>Thanks

YOU WILL LOVE NEW YORK.IF YOU LIKE THE THEATRE CHECK OUT RENT.I SAW IT IN OCTOBER AND I LOVED IT.ALSO THE TALE OF THE ALLERGISTS WIFE WAS GREAT.IT STARS VALERIE HARPER.IF YOU WANT TO MEET SOME LOCAL PEOPLE CHECK OUT A PUB CALLED ST. JAMES. ITS IN HELL'S KITCHEN.CARNEGIE DELI HAS THE BIGGEST AND BEST SANDWICHES BUT DON'T GO AT LUNCHTIME BIG LINEUP.HAVE FUN

Sully, do yourself a big favor. Type in Milford Plaza on the search function and read the dozens of responses you will find. I'd say the general consensus is that you couldn't find a worse hotel in the area to stay in. But the location is good for theatre (although there are at least a hundred better hotels with just as good a location.)

There are at least a million delis in NYC, but if you want to try one that's a step above many and has a very pleasant upstairs dining area, visit Cranberry Gourmet on W. 45th Street between Sixth and Seventh Aves(half a block east of Times Square). My husband and I had muffins, bagels, and coffee there each morning for less than $7 total, and for lunch the sandwiches (which are close to $20 at CarnegiE Deli, if not more) are excellent and in the $4-7 price range.<BR><BR>We also enjoyed a little restaurant on W. 47th Street west of Times Square called South Side Cafe. No hint in the name, but it's very decent Italian, and very inexpensive for the area.<BR><BR>You can spend a lot of money or very little on food in NYC and still have some great meals!

Sully, The Milford isn't that great. Can you cancel those reservations? If you can let us know what your budget is and we'll help you choose something else. Did you want to be near Times Square/Theater? Or did you have another preference?
