Hotel reservations providers

Has any used Hotelclick.com. Is it reliable?

These days most hotels have some sort of guarantee that they will match rate of any other website (except bidding situations like Priceline) - so I no longer book with anything other than hotel website. I use on-line travel agents like Expedia and Travelocity to research sometimes, as well as Tripadvisor, but book with hotel site.

There are tons of those online reservations services, but if you see a cheaper rate online, just call the hotel and ask them to match it. They most likely will be happy not to pay commission to a third party.

I have never had luck with a hotel matching an independent websites rate. I always get the "they buy rooms and resell them. we can't match their prices." :(

That's too bad - I know at my place of business, we're happy to match rates.

My hotel in Madrid recently matched a price upon request without even asking for "proof". (And yes, they honored the better price!)
