Hotel recommendations in Monterey, CA
 

My husband and I are going to Monterey for business in a couple weeks and we have been there before but have never stayed there - usually go on to San Francisco. Any hotel recommendations?? He does not want a place with only valet parking - self parking only. Thanks tons!

The only place I know with self parking is the Hotel Pacific.

Try the Hyatt Regency Monterey (http://monterey.hyatt.com/hyatt/hotels/index.jsp). We have stayed there a few times.

Try the Monterey Hotel Plaza and Spa

Monterey Plaza is nice, I believe their Valet service is optional, the Best Western Monterey Beach Resort is also great as it is right on the ocean, I know they are self-park. Enjoy your trip! ***kim*** ((f))

Take this question to the California forum (specifically the Monterey section) of tripadvisor.com. (You have to look for the link to the forums). They have many locals on this forum who know exactly what you are looking for.

There is self-parking at many of the hotels in Monterey. Hotel Pacific was the first one I thought of - good job, Surfergirl!

Oh, I just scrolled down and saw that Cali made a reservation there. Cali, it's really a nice hotel. Have a great stay!

Check out Fremont street. That is where I always stay when I go to monterey. They are more affordable for those on a budget, and there is a Dennys nearby. Everything I need. Have a good trip!

If not, do so.

I'd be turned off the Hotel Pacific by those reviews, especially the one by surfergirl.

The Hotel Pacific has been going through renovations since November. Any experiences prior to then are outdated.
