Hotel recommendation for New York City
 

Planning a long weekend,arriving Friday, leaving Monday, 6 girlfriends in New York City - need hotel recommendations near Times Square or Manhattan. One friend flying in from Los Angeles, others driving.

How many to a room (how many rooms) and price?
Near Times Square or Manhattan? Are you aware that Manhattan is one huge area that includes Times Square?

Budget?

When? Your dates can be the difference of $200 per room per night for the same hotel.

I think you should stay at the Mandarin Oriental. You can get very pleasant park view rooms for 2 for about $800.

(Also - you might consider getting a map of NYC. Manhattan is an island, containing many of NYC's tourist attractions, in which Times Square is a very tiny - and quite unpleasant - neighborhood.)
