And yet another yes. Better yet, do a search-there was a thread a few months back about how disgusting it is.

I've always enjoyed Dave Barry and think he's a HOOT. But, regarding the Hotel Pennsylvania, there's a fellow on the AOL travel boards who's even funnier. His response to Dave Barry's article: "I think Dave Barry did a disservice by speaking as highly as he did about the Hotel Pennsylvania. It's obviously that because of his celebrity he was fortunate to get a good room. My room was depravity itself."

I've not stayed there, but Dave Barry is truly funny. The idea of the grime on the walls not acting as a good sound buffer is too funny -- and too real!!!!

Having walked through the lobby to get to a function (OK, it was a sample sale...)in one of the conference rooms, I can attest to the odd fact that there's really almost no seating space in the lobby! It's more like a train station waiting area, but with a slightly more eclectic crowd (some airline crews, particularly Air India, I think) seem to stay there.

And or opinion differs...I think most of those who complain have not stayed there...we were there in April 02 and it was just fine...had a big room king sized bed...clean. And the staff were most friendly. Its not the Ritz but we would stay there again...the price was just right and beats many of the Holiday Inns Ive stayed in.
