Hotel Palomar

Does anyone know anything about this hotel? It's part of the Kimpton chain and on their website it looks pretty nice. However I've read some recent reviews that seem to indicate it's under construction and/or renovation. Does anyone know if this is true and if it is when construction will be complete?

Thanks!

The hotel was formerly known as the Barcelo (21st and P, near Dupont Circle) and has been closed for renovation for quite a while. Its restaurant, Urbana, was mentioned in the WashPost this week, so it looks like the hotel is open (or will be very soon).

The area is not bad, 4th st @ Market. Don't know anything about construction.

City????????????????
The Dallas location will probably open in September, even though they are still saying August.

Oops, I though OP referred to the Palomar in Washington DC. There's one in Dallas, too?

...and San Francisco

I guess this is another example of the need to put a city name in the post header. I wish OP would come back and tell us where s/he's going.

The OP can't come back, he/she's lost.

I think that this post is in the DC area, so I assume the DC hotel is what she's referring to. It's in the Dupont Circle area, which is a lively area. The firm where I work gave a 2 night complimentary stay as a prize at the annual party so it must be nice, because they wouldn't give anything crappy!

I'm not that lost....I managed to find my way back....

I did post this in the DC forum area, but I guess if you are viewing all that doesn't help much!

thanks for the help. It sounds like construction has just wrapped up or is very soon. Since I'm not going until mid Sept I think I'll risk it!
