Hotel or B&B in Hot Springs

My husband and I are looking for a nice place to stay for a few nights in Hot Springs for our anniversary. We have heard good things about The Arlington but I am afraid that the rooms will be too run down and I will be disappointed. We are looking for something with nice fresh bed linens. I am a little phobic about hotels and want something clean and not shabby. Any suggestions?

Also are there any good places to eat a nice dinner?

I live about 45 minutes from Hot Springs and recently saw an add for the Hamilton House--I believe it's both a B&B and a restaurant. It used to be a really elegant restaurant on the lake, years ago, and then closed down when the owners got out of the business. It's been re-opened, so it might be worth googling it to see what you can find out.

I know there has been a fairly new hotel built in the downtown area--it seems like it might be an Embassy Suites but I'm not sure. There are also places along Lake Hamilton that might be nice. I just don't know the names since we only drive over during the day.

A good restaurant for seafood is Cajun Boilers. It's casual, not fancy at all, but the food is good. If you like barbecue, McClards is famous for this. It is good; again, very casual.

There are several restaurants along Central Avenue as well that might be good. There's an Italian place along Central that is supposed to be great--Belle Arti. If you are in town on a Sunday morning, the brunch at the Arlington is fantastic! I would highly recommend it, no matter where you're staying. Coy's is famous for steaks--it's not on Central but isn't that far from that area of town.

Yes, there is an Embassy Suites. I stayed there last September and I highly recommend it. It is excellent.
