Hotel options outside Baltimore's Inner Harbor area
Can you suggest a hotel outside of the Inner Harbor area with free parking and breakfast included for a family. Hoping to stay under $100/night for a February visit.
Thanks in advance. |
Days Inn Baltimore
5701 Baltimore National Pike West Rt 40 Catonsville Baltimore, MD 21228 US I stayed here for a night in August and it was decent. Typical Days Inn. Not a bad ride to the Inner Harbor. Personally, I would have rather been closer but it was a bus trip. It falls well within your range though. Not sure how many people you can fit in a room though. |
summerof67, when you say outside of the Inner Harbor area, could you be a little more specific about the location - should be still in the city / inside the betlway, or can it be outside the beltway in a more suburban location? And is there any particular part of town you'd like to have good access to (I assume you're going to have a car), like downtown, or north, south, east or west of the city?

A more surburban area is fine. I don't know much about Baltimore or its neighborhoods. We will visit Ft. McHenry, the aquarium and science center while in the downtown/Inner Harbor area but would prefer to stay in a more family style hotel with kids stay free, free parking, free breakfast, etc.
I'm not a fan of high-rise hotels. We are driving up from Virginia. |
My recommendation will still hold with the previous post. Big mall area around it and very accessible area to the Inner Harbor / Fort McHenry

The hotel in Catonsville mentioned by tc is certainly accessible to downtown, and I'm sure it's a nice place, but it sounds like you would prefer to be outside of the Beltway. I'm not familiar with which hotels provide breakfast, since I live in the area and I don't stay in hotels around here. But based on what you've said, I would suggest you look into hotels in the Linthicum area which is around the airport, or in Columbia. Both areas are south of the city in the I-95 corridor so each would be convenient for a drive up from Richmond. Its easy to get into the City from either area, but Linthicum is a little closer. Both areas have movie theaters, but Columbia will have more in the way of shopping, including a major regional mall and lots of restaurants.

Thank you for your suggestions.
