hotel needed for one nite
 

we are returning from a week in palm desert with a flight out at lax noontime. i thought it might be best to spend fri into sat at a nice hotel with my husband and kids 8&10. can you suggest a good hotel, and best location. we will have a rental car to return, but do not want to be too far from lax with a lot of drive in the am. we are traveling the last wk. of april. thank you

Foghorn Harbor Inn is just north of LAX in Marina Del Rey, there are more upscale places in the area as well. Good place to stay if you're just checking in for the night and would like to walk to dining and then head for bed.

You might do a Fodor's search on "Manhattan Beach" as that is a short drive to LAX as well. Nice to be near the beach if you're going to have all of Friday afternoon, late April sometimes brings very nice weather.

Marina del Rey is just a 10-12 minute drive to the car rental returns at LAX....Manhattan Beach maybe 20 minutes. A noontime flight on Saturday is about the best time you could have possibly picked to avoid traffic, good job!

Try the Residence Inn Palm Desert. It's not a far drive to the airport and it's away from the traffic. It's a very nice hotel and the people who work there are wonderful and very nice.

This trip has already been taken. Palm Desert is 3 hours from LAX...who are you kiddin?
