Hotel near the Monteleone Hotel

I will be in N.O. in Oct. & would like to find a hotel close to the Monteleone.

I am looking for a smaller but very nice type of hotel. Any suggestions ?

The closer, the better. Thanks

The Hotel St. Helene just reopened after a major overhaul/renovation, and it's 2 or 3 blocks from the Monteleone.

I may not be looking at the pictures right, but those rooms in the Hotel St. Helene look teeny to me! The bed looks like it takes up the whole room...

The W is close- they have a nice modern chic courtyard.

We are trying Le Marais for our next trip, but always love the Place de Armes.

Monteleone is across Canal from The Roosevelt- that might be an interesting option.

The Roosevelt is outstanding. The Sazzarac Bar is a lot of fun. And Domenica has a great 3/6 PM happy hour with half price drinks and pizza.
