The Holiday Inn in Fort Washington fits the bill, but it's 123 or so a night, and you can probably do nearly as well in Center City and not pay train fare. Septa is not cheap.
The Motel 6 in King of Prussia is usually under a $100, but it's kind of grim, and not all that wildly convenient to a train station.
You might try Priceline. We won a whole block of rooms (for a wedding-long story)in the Marriott Convention Center for $69 a night on a weekend in September.

I third the Priceline suggestion, and you might also want to try the Holiday Inn at 4th and Arch and see what specials they might have; I've gotten rooms there for less than $100 a night. It would be a pity to spend so much of your time on a commute.
