Don't know how many people you have, but we (parents with 2 teens) stayed several years ago at the Embassy Suites on 22nd St. and it was wonderful. It's not cheap, but considering it has a full hot breakfast each morning and free cocktails and snacks in the afternoon, it's a great deal. Plus you have a REAL suite with a separate bedroom and a sleeper sofa in the living room...also 2 TV's. I know it was walking distance to the Dupont Circle Metro station, but it seems like there was another station close by too!

We liked the Dupont Hotel.

We also liked the Dupont Hotel. A friend of mine really likes the Palomar.

I have to say that I hate the kind of query the OP has thrown out. There are over a dozen hotels within walking distance of Dupont Circle, many of them nice and many of them fairly expensive. Without any sense of who the OP is (a single, a couple, a family with 4 kids) and how much he/she is willing to pay, I have no recommendations.

I like St. Gregory Hotel and Suites as well as the Palomar.

I agree with you. He/she asked about the Mardarin Oriental v. Grand Hyatt on another thread so that might give some insight into caliber of hotel. At least this post offers a date which makes a difference this time of year in DC for downtown hotels. I stay frequently in this area and for that week you can expect: Kimpton Properties: Palomar (>$350/night), Madera, Topaz and Rouge (>$275/night) Hotel Dupont: >$300/night Residence Inn & Carlylse Suites $200-$300/night You can probably cut those costs a bit with the discount sites and consolidators. |
