Hotel Near Convention Center

Hi,
Looking for some hotel recommendations within half a mile or so of the convention center. How is the Sahara? It looks fairly close.....
Thanks!
Pete

Um, which convention center? You might want to tell us what city you're talking about.

Wo??

The Sahara is HOT!

Guessing from the "Sahara" reference, one might assume the OP means Las Vegas.

Pete, two things:

1. Putting "Las Vegas" in the title of your post would have been helpful.

2. The Sahara is an adequate hotel (barely) in an absolutely awful location-- unless you absolutely want to be that close to the Convention Center. Is that really necessary? You can do SO much better in so many other Strip properties, if you can be a couple of miles from the Convention Center....

I'm assuming you are talking about the Las Vegas Convention Center, and not the Sands Convention Center. If so, consider using the monorail to reach the convention center. Visit www.lvmonorail.com for maps and prices.

Yes, location in the title would be good. But even the location at least somewhere in the body of the message would have been ok.

Nowhere does Pete mention Las Vegas. Perhaps he selected Nevada when originally posting, but all messages get dumped into the big ole USA forum - there is no such thing as a Nevada forum - it's just for search purposes.

Go for the LV Hilton which is at the convention center. OR as others have mentioned, most properties on the East side of the Strip have relatively easy access to the monorail which has a stop at the convention center.

O.K.--Good to see that everyone is awake!
Yes; Robbie is correct I did think that I was posting in the Nevada forum. And las Vegas be the place.

It sounds like I should look a bit uptown. Sahara gets one thumb up and one down so thats an average place w/ maybe "hot" slots...?
I value clean & quiet over crowded & loud. $125 to $150 a nite is my range.
Any thoughts?
And thank you everyone for taking the time to respond.
Pete

For $125 to 150 in Vegas you can do much better then Sahara. This is a very budget hotel, more like $40-60 range.

Look into hotels which have monorail station for a quick connection with the convention center.

You don't care for crowded and loud?

LOL...this is Vegas baby! One of the biggest busiest convention centers in the US, perhaps the world. The Strip is crowded and loud virtually year round. Buckle up...

I would look into the Las Vegas Hilton which is connected to the Convention Center. Sometimes you can get special convention rates, through your convention group. I stayed there four years ago when we were part of a convention event. We liked it there.

About Sahara being cheap, for Sept and Oct the rates on their website are running $58.- to $210.-.
This is not a cheap time of year in Vegas, LOL. The OP doesn't mention when.
