hotel near 77 W. 66th St

I am very unfamiliar with NYC. Can anyone recommend a hotel near 77 W 66th St that won't be outrageously expensive?

Comfort Inn Central Park West

Indeed, Comfort Inn CPW is the only hotel right near there. Rooms are VERY small. Some other hotels that wouldn't be too far are On the Avenue, the Beacon and the Milburn.

When we stayed at the Comfort Inn, it was so awful, that my cousin offered to paint the letters DIS in front of the Comfort.

Don't know what you mean by "outrageously expensive" but the Empire Hotel is very convenient to that address.

Also check out Radio City Apartments, a 15 minute walk from 66th.

If the Empire is not closed (which I think it might be) it should be! If you think the Comfort Inn CPW isn't good, you won't like the Empire.

Not sure about your budget or when you are planning to travel (that can influence price) but how about The Lucerne on West 79th? http://www.newyorklucernehotel.com

The Lucerne is VERY attractive for a 3* hotel - and easy to walkt or take the subway to 66th st. But prices lately have not been great.

The op should tell us when she/he is coming and what the hotel budget is.
