Stayed there years ago, and was acceptable for the price. Family run with a good restaurant. The location can't be beat, in the heart of the FQ right on Royal Street a short walk to everything you want to see.

Have not been there for a year and a half, but we really liked the place. You can see Acme Oyster from the front of the hotel. We had a corner room which was a great view. It is noisy. You could hear music down below most of the night. It was kind of nice. Don't miss the moving carousel bar below in the hotel.

We stayed at the Montelone in mid March a couple of years ago. It was cold at night because the windows are old and drafty, at least at that time of year. It's an historic hotel with a magnificent baroque facade over the entrance. The lobby is grand and the revolving bar unique. But, to stay again, no. Nothing memorable about the room or restaurant. It is in a very good location. Best to visit and see the place, but not stay. On our next visit, we plan to stay in one of those cozy places with a courtyard.

My girlfriends and I stayed there last July and it was okay. It was fine for our purpose and that was to have fun on Bourbon Street. It is in a great loaction. The lobby is nice and the hotel bar is worth checking out for a drink. The room we stayed in was on the smaller side. One downside was they were doing construction which was a pain b/c they would start working at 7:00am. Hangovers and construction don't mix!! Check out Andrew Yaegar's for dinner. A great jazz singer plays on the weekends. I have been there twice and both times she has been there. Have fun!!
