Hotel Monaco Question

Hello,

I posted this question on the USA board by accident, and thought I would repsot it here. Sorry for the dupe if you read it elsewhere.

I would appreciate some 'dress code' advice from anyone who has stayed at the Hotel Monaco in Portland. I apologize if this comes across as a really dumb question.

My family will be staying in the hotel two nights the end of October. We are planning on doing a lot of hiking and outdoor activities in and around Portland.

I know the Monaco is a very nice, upscale hotel and am concerned that the hotels ambiance may be something different than 'tourist blue jean casual'.

I would appreciate any advice on the feel of the Monaco and whether we will feel comfortable in casual attire such as jeans and tennis shoes. Thanks.

There is only one USA forum. You might think you posted on the Oregon forum, but they all end up in the same bucket.

Last I checked, you had several responses to your original post. To locate it, just click on your screen name.

Beachbum,

I don't understand. If all posts go to the same bucket, then why did my first post not show up in the Oregon forum?

The second post was entered from the Oregon forum and it shows up in the Oregon forum? Confused here?

There is no Oregon forum, iwannagonow. All US posts end up in the same bucket. State names are only useful for the search function.

Did you find your first post?

So if someone wants to look into something that pertains to Portland or Oregon, they can click on the Oregon forum and find only posts that pertain to that area. But if you are posting a question or responding, it all gets dumped here in the US forums.

I love the HOtel Monaco.
I have stayed there around 30 nights in all..

The Hotel is vry nice, upscale, beautiful cushy rooms but they do not require the clientele to dress to stay there. It is still, after all, Portland. Casual rules.

The restaurant The Red Starr is casual or you can get a bit dressed up, but everyone wears whatever they want to wear for whatever they are doing.
The only people who are dressed in suits etc are the people on Business meetings/stays...there is a floor where they have large groups of business people having corporate meetings.

My dog stays there lol he has never had to dress ((&))

Beachbum,

Yes, I saw my first post. Thanks for the explanation.
In my second post I put the city name 'Portland' so that is probably why it showed up in the Oregon forum.

Scarlett,

I am glad to know your dog can stay even though he is going commando. That should cover our behinds so to speak. Thanks much.
