Hotel Monaco-Alexandria

If you are headed to DC it is hard to imagine a better choice of hotel than the Monaco in Alexandria. I just spent several days there and would return tomorrow if the opportunity arose.

a. location-middle of King St. ten minute walk to King St. metro
b. free airport shuttle
c. free wifi if you join the free to join loyalty program
d. great linens, comfy beds, lovely bathrooms and really cool leopard and zebra print robes
e. free wine hour
f. quiet rooms
g. the people on staff there are the most genuinely hospitable and charming I have ever met in the service industry.

Highly recommended!

I stayed at the Monaco in Chicago. They are Kimpton Hotels, and are first rate.

I'm headed to DC tomorrow but it's too late to change hotels!

I am sorry to hear that panecott. I was so happy there. I was with a group of girlfriends who do an annual trip and we are all Kimpton loyalists after this experience.

When you sign up for their loyalty program, you're eligible for a room discount, two free glasses of champagne, and a free dessert during your birthday month. Yippee! It's a great way to celebrate.

Cmc,

We have a Hotel Monaco here in SLC too. Excellent boutique hotel! Their restaurant, Bambara, is one if the two best in the city too. It's in an old, granite Classical Greek style bank building & they did a great conversion job.

Hope you get out to Park City for another visit.

I would love to do that,Dayle. It was a terrific trip. My classmates still talk about how much fun we had in Park City.
