Hotel inside Miami Airport
We need a hotel for one-night in Miami. We arrive at the airport at 9:00 p.m. and have a flight out the next day at noon. Due to the late arrival, we thought the hotel inside the Miami Airport might be the easiest way to go. However, we have read some bad reviews ("It was a nightmare...only I was awake.") concerning construction noise due to renovations, shabby rooms, etc. Has anyone stayed there recently and can put our mind at ease or come up with a better option?

The Holiday Inn Crowne Plaza also has a free shuttle to/from
the airport. I noticed a lot of flight crew stay there.
I have not personally stayed there, but use their parking lot
(for a fee) and shuttle services when flying in/out of Miami
International Airport-Mia.

Funny thing but I've stayed at the Hilton and also the big Marriott. At both of those the sound of planes right over our heads made us feel like they were going to come through the building. At the hotel IN the airport, we didn't hear a thing. Planes do not go right overhead!
But I'm unsure about construction noise.

Rooms at MIA Airport Hotel are small but comfortable. Never been bothered by airport noise when I've stayed there but haven't been there in recent weeks so don't know if you'll have construction noise. We find it very convenient.

My wife and I have stayed at the MIA Airport Hotel several times when we are traveling to St. Maarten. Our flights from MEM don't arrive until after 11pm, and we must take a noon flight the following morning to SXM. Our latest stay at this hotel was in early Dec. 2012, when breakfast was included in the room rate. Although the breakfast menu was limited, the food was fine and was served promptly. We have never encountered noise problems on our stays here. For convenience, the hotel cannot be beat. Why take time to leave airport property when you can get a good night's rest on site?
