Hotel info in DC

Hi Everyone,

I am visiting DC from November 12-17, 2008. I have been searching for a hotel or b&b for those nights. Is it possible to get a room for around $100 a night ? I was looking into hostels and there is one called Keefer Place, does anyone know anything about this hostel? I can't seem to find any reviews. I need to stay in a safe neighborhood. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance,

Alie,

I did a search on Kayak and I wouldn't stay at any of the places in the city you can get for $100. I would check out the Days Inn, Comfort Inns, and Best Westerns in Arlington

Try the Adam's Inn on Lanier Place, in the Adams Morgan section of town.

I would think you could find something for that rate, at least in a suburb, in early November. I never heard of that hostel but looked it up. It's not a great area, which may not bother you, but the place looked awful to me. It isn't worth what they are charging.

Here is a nice place, very good location that has a room with a shared bath for $113, that's not bad

Also try the Hotel Harrington right near the Mall, it has rooms for $95

I think either of those would be a lot better than that hostel. There is an official hostel in DC, though, which is a good location, the one that belongs to that official federation or something.

I'd also try Priceline, but be careful about just getting some real cheap hotel somewhere you know nothing about That is a low rate for the area in the Fall, at least the Harrington and Tabard Inn are very good locations and safe.

I have used priceline extensively in the past years for hotel rooms in DC. You choose what star level you are willing to accept. I usually choose 2 or 2.5 star. I get hotels in the 55 to 65 dollar a night range all the time, plus taxes of course. On my last trip, we won a 3.5 star in Navy Yard-65.00 plus taxes. Great hotel, not much to do around it, but tube was 1 block away. Once on the tube, we could go anywhere we wished.

Alie - Tabard Inn is adorable - i'd go with that. its in Dupont Circle which is very central to sights/metro. Hotel Harrington is downtown and safe/VERY central but I suspect the rooms will be skeezy.
