Hotel in Sonoma Valley
Can anyone share information on the new Renaissance Lodge at Sonoma? Have a reservation there and wonder if it is worth the $250 per night.

It is a new hotel and have not heard a lot about it. Seems expensive. You might want to check out the Sonoma Mission Inn instead.

Ralph, must you stay in the town of Sonoma? There are lots of other options if you are touring the Sonoma wine country. Look at hotels in Healdsburg, Geyserville, Santa Rosa etc.

Ralph, did you obtain any info elsewhere about the Renaissance in Sonoma? Their website isn't very informative. I also want to know if it's a decent place. May I recommend Cafe La Haye just off Sonoma square for a wonderful dining experience -- I can't wait to go back!

To: Susan

No, I did not get any more info on the Renaissance Lodge at Sonoma. It is getting close to my trip so I will be staying there. Will share my experiences on it when I get back.

Drove by it on Saturday. It looks very new and tidy. It is centrally located and has well kept grounds. Wehad lunch at the Sonoma Mission Inn Cafe. It was great(and reasonable)!Egg white frittata and a Ramos Fizz. Good way to start the day.

My family and I stayed at The Lodge at Sonoma in May and enjoyed it very much. The resort is brand new and the cottage rooms were beautiful. The staff was very nice and friendly. The hotel is new and does need to work on some items to bring it up to a first class property. One is that they need to addd in vending machines so that people can buy some drinks after their shop closes at 10 pm. Overall we really enjoyed it and would recommend it to other people.
