Search on booking, trip advisor, expedia but then I book direct. Cut out the middle person. Or call for a live person to discuss.

I always look at booking.com or TA but then book direct usually. I looked at booking.com this time and I input 2 adults and 1 child and when it quotes a price it only includes 2 adults and 1 bed.I sure don't want to get there and find there is only 1 bed for the 3 of us.

Thank you for your input about the Roosevelt, it is just that it has been 7 years since I have been there.
Yes, we are totally fine with only 2 double beds.

Many NYC hotels do not have 2 beds, so the assumption with a child is that the child will sleep in a rollaway. Hotels that don't allow 3 people in a room will not come out in a search for three people, but you have to book with particular care here since you will want a room with 2 beds. If you book direct, that won't be a problem because you will get to choose your room type in most cases, but that may not be the case with Booking.com. (Nor will you get the same rates ... in NYC, OTAs often offer cheaper rates than the hotel sites themselves, but you may not get the room choice you want.)

The moral here is you need to be clear in what you're getting. Make sure you are comparing rooms with 2 beds to ensure you are really getting what you want a the price you want. But that is still likely to cost you $350 in the busiest and most expensive time of the year (i.e., the fall).

That's a very good choice. It's a busy area, but it's also very convenient and reliable good. I hope you have a nice trip.

tidy, I've stayed there when doing Theater weekends. It is very convenient but out of the craziness of Times Square. If you are going to a Show you can reach almost all theaters without walking through Times Square. Good choice!
