Diane, My husband and I stayed at the Maison duPuy (sp?) and loved it. Very romantic courtyard. Convenient to French Quarter.<BR>Have fun

What about House on Bayou Road? It gets consistantly good ratings. It's in the garden district.

House on Bayou Road is not in the Garden District. Bayou Road runs off of Esplanade Avenue closer to City Park. Totally different part of the city although lovely in its own way.

We stayed at the House on Bayou Road last year. It was absolutely lovely staying there and very romantic. We ate all over town so we rented a car to make getting around easier. Degas House and Cafe Degas are close by. Oh, and one of New Orleans' new good restaurants, Indigo, is on the premises.

You may want to try something different - like a B&amp;B. My wife and I just returned from NOLA - stayed at Alexnader's on the Point (Algiers section - free 5 minute ferry from French Qtr). Great hoise, hosts and breakfasts. Much better than a hotel.
