Hotel in Minneapolis for vacation

Hi, My husband and I want to spend a long weekend in Minneapolis. There doesn't seem to be a lot of luxury hotels with elaborate spas or pools. Chicago always has The Four Seasons and The Ritz, etc., but I this is not the case in Minneapolis. Can anyone recommend a luxury vacation (not overly business) hotel in Minneapolis? We want to check out a theater and hear some good jazz music. Thanks for any help.

IN Minneapolis, The Hotel Ivy seems to be rated the highest. You can check to see if it meets your needs. The other high rated (and high priced) hotels are in the Mall of America/Metrodome area.

I can't comment on the spas/pools, but the Chambers and Graves hotels have excellent reputations (and would be considered 'luxury' hotels) and they are located in downtown Minneapolis.

Downtown we enjoy the Hyatt Regency Minneapolis. From your rooms you have a great view of the Nicollet Mall. You will be close to all the downtown activities and restaurants. The reason we like the Hyatt is because of the Oceanaire Seafood Room is in the building. In fact, this restaurant is the flagship for its other restaurants. If you like seafood you definitely have to go. Their chef has even been on Top Chef. They also have a bistro(Taxxi) and Spike's--a bar and grill.

Thanks so much everyone. I can't wait to hit the ground running with shopping and eating.

Agreed, the Graves and Chambers hotels are supposed to be great, artsy, and have some good eateries. You might also want to consider the Grand Hotel Minneapolis (http://www.grandhotelminneapolis.com/), or if you're in the mood for something trendy, the historic Foshay Tower is now a W hotel (http://www.starwoodhotels.com/whotel...ropertyID=3019).

If you're going in the winter (or spring, which is basically an extension of winter), be sure to check out your hotel's skyway location/accessibility!

You don't mention when you are coming - but for jazz-check out The Dakota (downtown Mpls.) Website www.dakotacooks.com
They get some great artists and their food (if you want to dine) is really decent.
