Hotel in Minneapolis
 

I am planning a road trip in August

Currently, we are booked at the Holiday Inn at the MSP Airport. How is this hotel? Convenient to downtown? We won't be going there until after the game so convenience to the Metrodome isn't as important.

Also, is there reliable public transportation in Minneapolis or is rental car advised?

You can take the "light rail" roundtrip to downtown. Once downtown, there are buses; cabs don't really "cruise" but you could go to a hotel to get one.

If you're just going to and from downtown, you probably don't need a rental car.

Any feedback on the hotel?

Seems to get mixed reviews on Trip Advisor. I can't speak to it personally. Agree with good location: near airport and Mall of America.

What is the location of the Holiday Inn? The one on 94th St & 494 is also called Airport/MOA and I'd pass on that one.

That one is fine. Not far from Mall of America and airport and you can take the light rail downtown. Have fun!!
