Hotel in Miami with EARLY check-in
Looking for a post cruise hotel in Miami that allows early check-in (say noon at the latest) and has a shuttle to the airport (and preferably from the cruiseship port).
Has anyone found a hotel like this. Virtually all the hotels have a check-in time of 3PM (way too late for us). In your experience are they flexible about this ? We would prefer to check-in at about 11AM but noon would be OK. |
I think that most hotels will allow you to check in early under certain circumstances if they have a room available. Even if they don't, they will typically allow you to leave your luggage there, have lunch, and come back when a room is ready.
I'm not sure which, if any, hotels have shuttle services to both the airport and cruise terminal, however. |
You will not find a hotel with a check in that early unless the hotel has a 7AM checkout.
Statia is correct. It depends on whether the room is ready as to when you can check in. On the flip side, if a room isn't ready, they may make you wait until after 3PM. In Palm Springs at the Marriot, I once had to wait until 7PM for my room. I suggest you find a hotel with a shuttle and then start inquiring as to whether or not you can check in early. |
As has been stated, no hotel has a check-in that early simply because they can't make people LEAVE at 7 or 8 a.m. and turn the rooms around. All hotels will check you in IF a room is vacant the night before. IF.
If you REALLY want an early check-in, book the room the night before and have the front desk "check you in" a day early so it's ready for immediate occupancy when you arrive. I worked in hotels for several years and this was occasionally done. Maybe you can use Priceline and save so much that the extra night isn't of monetary significance. |
A lot of times when we book a hotel, we will request an early check-in.
Although they always say they'll put it in the computer, but can't guarantee, we've never had a problem and our room is always ready. If the rooms are booked or there's a problem, they'll tell you when you make the request. Also, if you want a check-in that early, be sure to specify the time you want to check in. |
Keep in mind that if you check in much earlier than standard checkin time, you get the first room(s) cleaned - not necessarily good rooms, but you get them because they're ready and you're waiting, and often it's not likely they're gonna change you later if you don't like it.
