Try this addy.

All of the hotels with a (S.E.) southeast in the address line are
within 10 minutes of the airport, with easy access to the interstate(1-96 to US 131) to head towards Big Rapids. Figure a 50-60 minute ride to Big Rapids from this part of town.
The downtown hotels are a 15-20 minute ride from the airport and 45-50 minutes from Big Rapids. The highyway north to Big Rapids(US131) runs right through the downtown area.

It's been a few years...I went to college in GR (graduated six years ago) and here's what I remember.
There is a Crowne Plaza very close to the airport on 28th street. Actually, lots of hotels on 28th St (the main east/west drag in that part of town)--Comfort Inn (I've actually stayed there and it's adequate), Best Western, Red Roof Inn (I think). There's also another Holiday Inn and a Residence Inn at 28th St and the East Beltline.
If you call any of those hotels, you can tell them you're visiting Calvin College and they may be able to give you a discounted rate. See http://www.calvin.edu/resource/lodging.htm
If you want to be downtown, you can't go wrong at the Amway Grand.
I found this site
http://grand-rapids-hotels.gothotel....mi_hotels.html which seems to list a lot of them. Like a previous poster said, you probably want any place with an address ending in SE.
Have fun!

I have stayed at the Amway Grand. Other than giving your money to ultra-conservative, right-winger Rich DeVos, it's a great place to stay.
Happy Trails,
Paul
Be sure to visit Frank Lloyd Wright's, "Myer-May House." They have daily tours and it is quite the home.
