Hotel in Fort Lauderdale in March
 

We are two senior ladies who will be arriving from a cruise in Fort Lauderdale at the end of March and wanted to stay three days before returning home. A little shopping is of interest but we are not "beach people", although we enjoy a nice pool.

At this point we do not plan to rent a car and we were wondering if anyone could suggest a good hotel that is clean, safe and reasonably priced. Because we will not be driving, accessibility to shops, restaurants, etc. is important.

Does anyone out there have any suggestions?

I live in Fort Lauderdale so I think I can help. There is a hotel named Gallery One (it's a Doubletree Hotel) on East Sunrise Blvd. It is on the Intracoastal waterway, has a nice pool and is across the street for the Gallerial Mall.

It's the Galleria Mall. Sorry about that.

We stayed at the Mariott Courtyard, right on the beach. Nice pool, reasonable price (included breakfast and a drink at the pool) and lots of restaurants. Not sure about shopping.
