Do a search on the word Harrington, with the subject being Washington DC.
You will find previous comments by other posters. The most descriptive term I recall reading was "vile pit".
You can take it from there.

Ryan, If this hotel has a bar/restaurant in it called "Harry's", then "vile pit" is being kind. Very poor service with attitude...and food to match.

That was about 3 years ago so maybe they've cleaned up their act? I would hope so because it is a good location. Not too much "nightlife" as I recall right there.
Kal

Hotel Harrington is truly a vile pit. Do you really want to stay at a place that advertises itself as the "Home of the Kitcheteria?" It is filthy with horrid service. My co-workers and I only feel pity when we hear of people staying there, or when we pass by the place in a cab.

My mom had to stay there once on business when all the other hotels downtown were booked up -- she said "never again."

The Hotel Harrington - the Harrington - now I've heard it all. Whoever called it a vile pit is just being kind. I am in DC and just walking past the place gives me the urge to wash my hands. And I understand some tourists still use it.

I believe the Harrington is the place where a friend of mine stayed once because it was either that or the streets. He learned that spray deoderant was good for killing roaches.
I think they were of the attack variety.
As a warning to any and all travelers to D.C.---Hotel Harrington and the Allen Lee are NOT worth the cheap price. Unless you're a hooker or a pimp, then it the ideal location for you.

I think they have flying cockroaches in both hotels.
