Hotel Close to Palm Springs Convention Center
Greetings!
I will be needing a hotel as close as possible to the Palm Springs Convention Center for a weekend (Feb 8-10) 2008. It is for my daughter and myself; possible dh as well. She has a cheer competition that weekend.
The Wyndham <sp> which someone said it attached to the center is not showing any availablity. If we could walk that would be ideal. I prefer something like a Marriott/Hyat as opposed to a Motel 6 or the like.
Thank you in advance!

There's a Hilton, and it's approximately .31 miles from the Wyndham, so probably still within walking distance of the Convention Center. There's also the Marquis Villas Resort, Courtyard by Marriott and 2 or 3 others all within a half-mile:

I checked availability for the Hilton -- nothing there for that weekend, either.
But, the Marquis has a 1-bedroom villa for $199.00/nite, and the Hotel Zoso has rates starting at $289.00/nite.
Good luck!

My pleasure!
I was just poking around a bit more at the link I posted previously, and if you go 'up' to the Palm Springs page ( http://www.resideo.com/us/california/palmsprings/ ) you can do a city-wide quote there and then sort the results based on distance from the Convention Center! Neat!

I would suggest the Hilton (http://www.palmsprings.com/hilton/index.html) also. It is less than a three block walk from the convention center. You might also check out the Spa Hotel (and Casino) it's a bit tired but and old standby can be fun. (http://travel.yahoo.com/p-hotel-3580...esort_casino-i) and across the street from
the Hilton ... or the Wyndam on Tahquitz (http://www.wyndham.com/hotels/PSPPS/main.wnt) about two blocks away.

I actually ended up booking at the Shadow Ridge Marriott as I got an "owners" rate and it was very reasonable for a large unit - this way we can have breakfast et in the unit. Nothing was available when I was looking close to the Convention center so I figured I will just have to drive...Thanks for the suggestions!
