Hotel Adagio-San Fran?

Does anyone know of this new hotel in the d'town, union square area of San Francisco? Thanks.

I don't, just topping.

Recent redo of the Shannon by the Joie de Vive group. It is on Geary between Taylor and Jones. The website looks quite nice. I'd give it a try.

Thanks for your help. This will be our first trip to San Francisco. Is Hotel Adagio in a good location?

You will be in the theatre district of SF. You will be about three to four blocks off Union Square. Public transportation will abound. You can easily take a cable car from Powell Street from your hotel. There are many fine restaurants in walking distance and Union Square is big shopping(Neiman's etc.).

Great, thanks again. Within walking distance to Nieman Marcus? Sounds perfect!

Hmm, I would read this article so that you can make an informed decision before deciding on staying in Union Square. There are a lot nicer areas in SF.

Rockman,
The Adagio would definitely be easy walking distance to Nieman Marcus, Saks, etc. If you go to Macy's for shopping, here's a great little place for a snack: Crepe ou Chocolate - tiny creperie with a few outdoor tables, everything is yummy there, whether sweet or savory. It's on O'Farrell on the east side of Stockton, just across from Macy's.

Topping an older thread with some new info to offer:

I had dinner at the Adagio's restaurant, the Cortez, last night. It was fabulous. The place has a very upbeat feel, the decor is very modern and original, and the food was great. The chef here has a real feel for seasonal specialities - everything on the menu was ideal for comfort and enjoyment on a cold rainy night like last night. The bar area up front was lively, with a nice mix of locals and visitors having a good time.
Of course I did not see the rooms, but judging from the restaurant and the lobby, the re-do of the old Shannon Court hotel into the Adagio looks very successul.
