hotel

Hi, I´m from Argentina. I´m going with my two sons (25 and 21)to NYC in January . We are looking for accomodations with ,for example, two queens beds and a sofa.Could you give me some recomendations. Thanks.

You should repost with a more informative heading like "NYC hotel with 2 queen beds".

You also didn't mention your price range. But to get started, you should look into the Affinia hotels (www.affinia.com). They are suite hotels and some of the one bedrooms have 2 queen beds and a separate living room area with a sofa bed. They also have small kitchens.

Other suite hotels that may have similar configurations are The Avalon (30s/midtown), Embassy Suites (location downtown) and DOubletree (in Times Square).

You can check this site also, http://www.hotelsguru.com/united%20s...rk-hotels.html , it is good for you to beginning search, It is very easy to see the price for each hotel, you can make the decision.

Most of the Affinia hotels have rooms/suites with 2 beds (double or queen) and a sofabed. The location of the Affinia 50 is very good. The Affinia Dumont I know has rooms with 2 queens and a sofabed. What's also nice about the Affinia's is that they have small kitchens, like an apartment.

Many of the Courtyards by Marriott also have rooms with 2 queens and a sofabed (but no kitchen). The Courtyard Marriott Midtown East is very close to the Affinia 50 to give you a price comparison.

Forgot to mention, travelzoo.com is a website that often has special pricing which you're likely to find for Jan. I would try to avoid prepaying for any hotel now as you might find a better price closer to your stay. Quikbook.com also lists many of the Affinia hotels and sometimes has good prices.

Thanks a lot for everyone, your advices are very useful.I would like to talk more with you, but for me is difficult write in english. Thanks again.

mclaurie Nov 4th, 2007 08:09 AM

Nali, there are free websites that will do simple translation. If you write in your language (Portugese?) and get it translated into English, we might be able to help.

Se você tentar este site web, ele traduzirá para você mas não sei como bem.

Thanks for the fact, mclaurie. In this message I am using the translator. I tell you that actually the language in Argentina is Spanish. I know something of English but when I write all the doubts appear. Anyhow when I returned from the trip I am going to write a history to tell our experience and to give an opinion of the hotels.

hi nali,
i am going to buenos aires in december. can you suggest a moderate hotel in el centro?

have a wonderful time in nyc!

smartcookie Nov 14th, 2007 09:55 PM

Radio City Apartments also have 2 bedrooms you can stay in.

nali Nov 20th, 2007 03:41 AM

Hi Cheryl B!!! Forgive me that I did not answer earlier but was not reading the forum. Before answering to your question, I would need to know inside that price you look for the hotel, because to the change what for us is expensive perhaps for you is moderate. How much time are you going to be?

speckles Nov 20th, 2007 04:20 AM

I've just checked out Radio City Apartments (thanks to Fodorite assistance earlier today) and they have:
1 bedroom apartments (2 double beds and 1 sofa bed) for US$220 per night + taxes

2 bedroom apartment (3 double beds and 1 sofa bed) for US$299 per night + tax

The rates for January might be cheaper as I searched rates for August 2008. The apartments have lots of good reviews on Trip Advisor and are well located in Midtown near Times Square, the Rockafellar Centre and several subway stations.

These are the cheapest apartments I have found which are centrally located. Affinia Hotels also have the Eastgate Tower Suites, which are a bit more expensive and not quite as central to Times Square.

The Salisbury Hotel has two queens in the bedroom and a sleeper sofa in the living room of its one bedroom accommodations.

Also, some of the Affinia properties do as well.

Thanks for his advices. I am already almost decided by the one bedroom of San Carlos. I do the reservations for agency of trips and really all the hotels seem to me the most expensive. They recommended it to me very much.

mclaurie Nov 22nd, 2007 09:12 AM

The San Carlos is a very nice hotel. Check the prices on quikbook.com since it's sometimes cheaper than the hotels' own website. The San Carlos is very near the
Affinia 50 and I think a bit nicer.
